Biography

Melissa has always been committed to public service both personally and professionally. In one of her public sector positions, she became a plaintiff and federal whistleblower where she pursued successful wrongful termination and disability discrimination claims – all while undergoing treatment for ovarian cancer. This experience became the foundation to who she is as an attorney.

At the Law Offices of Judy Snyder, Melissa serves clients seeking justice and advocacy in many areas including civil rights, prisoner rights, police abuse of force, wrongful termination, disability discrimination, medical malpractice, legal malpractice, contract disputes, trade secrets, catastrophic injury and wrongful death.

Melissa was admitted to the Oregon State Bar in 2019. She is admitted to practice in the State of Oregon and the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon. Melissa is an active member of the Oregon Trial Lawyers' Association, the Multnomah Bar Association, and the Oregon State Bar Association New Lawyer's Division.

She is the past Co-Chair of the OTLA New Lawyers Section, past Member of the Multnomah Bar Association Civil Law Operations Workgroup, and past Board Member of the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Oregon and SW Washington, as well as a current speaker for the Survivors Teaching Students program where she shares her ovarian cancer misdiagnosis and survival experience with residents and nursing students within the Portland metro area.
