Do you have Parkinson’s? Signs to watch out for

On Behalf of | Sep 27, 2019 | Failure To Diagnose |

Parkinson’s is a serious disease that can change your life forever and can be fatal. As with long-term issues like cancer and similar diseases, it’s very important to catch Parkinson’s as early as possible. You need to know what symptoms to watch out for.

If you think that you may have this progressive nervous system disorder, you should know that the first signs are typically very small. Often, they are tremors. You may just barely catch a little bit of a shake in one hand. Many people think nothing of it in the early stages.

While these tremors may be the main symptom, please note that they are not the only one. It impacts different people in different ways. For instance, some people see their movements slow down or they start to feel unexplained stiffness.

For instance, some people become rather expressionless as their face stiffens. Others look different when they walk because their arms don’t swing as well — or at all. They may change the way they speak, slurring words and speaking softly.

No matter what symptoms you have, the reality of this disease is that it grows worse with time, and there is no cure. Medical experts are searching for one, but they have not found it yet.

Even so, there are treatment options that can improve things significantly. These include medication, surgery and more. That’s why it’s important to catch the symptoms early, and get a correct diagnosis, allowing you to look into all of your options.

If you go to the doctor and they fail to diagnose the condition, it can set you back tremendously. That’s when you need to know what legal steps you can take.
